Tibet’s Environmental Destruction and its Impact

Interview with Tibetan Environmentalist, Tenzin Norbu, on Tibet’s environment, its present condition and what students of environmental studies need to look for when pursuing this career. Norbu said that destruction of Tibet’s ecology and environment is real and one needs to understand the extent of dam constructions, mining, re-location of nomads resulting in the loss of their ancestral homes, livelihood and their grazing lands, climate change, and air and water pollution. Norbu added that urgent efforts must be made in order to safe Tibet’s environment, and one way of doing that is through public education.
