The Dalai Lama consecrated the world’s tallest stupa, “Descent from Heaven.” The Indian Defense Minister was also present at the consecration. Defense Minister George Fernandes had laid the foundation of the stupa two years ago. Fernandes said that the world is infested with violence and the “voice of the Dalai Lama is the lone voice in the world appealing for peace calling for the need to strengthen the voices of compassion.” The Dalai Lama talked about developing inner peace through love, compassion, and tolerance.
