Tibetans Rally Across Asia Against Chinese Policies

Tibetans and their supporters rallied across Asia Wednesday, to protest what they say is China's continued repression against Tibetans, their religion and their culture.

Vigils and sit-ins were held in several Asian capitals, including Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo and New Delhi. The marchers demanded that the Chinese government allow Tibetans the basic right to live and worship as they please.

The rallies were held as reports emerged that another person had set himself on fire in China's southwestern Sichuan province. The victim was not identified and his or her condition is unknown.

Tibetan exiles say about 20 people have burned themselves to protest Chinese policies in the region.

Chinese authorities call the self-immolations a form of terrorism.
