Tibetans in Dharamsala Offer Prayers to the Flood Victims of Uttarakhand, India

Hundreds of Tibetans gathered at Tsuk-lag-khang, Dharamsala, India on June 24, 2013 to pray for the victims of the recent flood hit areas in Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh, India

The prayer was presided over by Tromdog Rinpoche, the abbot of Namgyal Monastery.

At the prayer ceremony, Sonam Dorjee, the settlement officer of Dharamsala, said the purpose of the prayers were to show solidarity and pay respect to India, while thanking the Indian government for its continous hospitality towardsTibetans over the last five decades.

Central Tibetan Administration has also announced three lakh, which is equivalent to approximately 6000 dollars, of donation to the Chief Minister’s relief fund to show support and share their grievances.
