The Tibetan election commission is conducting the prelimenary election for the bi-election of Domed MP on February 17, 2014 after Kirti Dolkar Lhamo, a standing member of the Parliament resigned last year in November. The election is held in more than 40 areas of India and Nepal.
While speaking to VOA's Tibetan Service, the voters shared their views on the election and what are they looking for in the new member of the Parliament.
According to a letter received by Jamphel Choesang, the election commissioner, there are no registered voters from Domed region in Bhutan, due to which this election is not being held there.
The final election will be held on June 9, 2014 and announced on the 20th as per the program set by the Election commission.
