Spanish security forces have arrested eight people with suspected links to al-Qaida in Syria during a raid early Friday.
Spain's Interior Ministry says the police raid was in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the northwest coast of Africa. The network also operates in the neighboring Moroccan town of Fnideq.
The ministry says those arrested were suspected of sending combatants to al-Qaida linked groups operating in Syria. It added that some recruits had carried out suicide attacks while others had joined terrorist training camps.
The identities of those arrested have not yet been made available to the public.
