Security forces fired into a crowd of Tibetan protesters in Serta County in Sichuan Tuesday morning.
"One person died on the scene, security forces took another who appeared to be fatally wounded and many were wounded and injured," sources told VOA Tibetan.
Residents of Ngaba, Draggo, Serta and other areas have put up wall posters that expressed support for the string of Tibetan self-immolation protests.
The posters condemned Chinese authority’s decision to crackdown on Tibetans after the incidents instead of addressing the grievances and underlying causes of self-immolations.
The Serta protest started Tuesday around 10am, when a crowd gathered in a market square to protest China's ongoing repression on Tibetans, to demand responses from the authorities to self-immolations incidents, and to demand the Dalai Lama’s return to Tibet.
