A weeklong photo exhibition, entitled “Journey for Peace,” featuring some 70 photographs of the Dalai Lama was organized in the European Parliament from July 12-16 2010 .
The event was sponsored by Thomas Man Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and Lindia Geringer de Oedenberg MEP in conjunction with the Office of Tibet in Brussels.
According to Tashi Wangi, European Union representative of the Dalai Lama, the exhibition was to mark the Dalai Lama’s 75th birthday in appreciation of his work for world peace, religious harmony and the Tibet cause.
He said the photographs were taken by Swiss photographer Manuel Bauer who followed the Dalai Lama on many trips over the years with unprecedented and privileged access.
Thomas Mann who is also the chair of the European Parliament’s Tibet Intergroup, reiterated the commitment of the Intergroup to supporting the campaign for the rights of Tibetans.
