The chronic problem of insufficient basic facilities such as water and electricity in the 4000 tent compound at the Kalachakra site seem unlikely to be resolved any time soon.

The organizing committee of the 32nd Kalachakra say that they are not receiving the full cooperation from local government officials in Bodhgaya as expected, and that the reason for it may be an expectation of cash ‘gifts’ on the part of some officials.

“Hence it seems that the problem of water and electricity will remain till the end of the teaching.” says Lama Thupten Yarphel, Board Director of the Organizing Committee Of Kalacakra teaching.
