The Library of Tibetan Works and Archives centered in Dharamsala, India held a felicitation function in honor of Professor Parmananda Sharma, a long term friend of Tibet for his life-time literary and academic achievements on December 16, 2013.

Geshe Lhakdor la, the director of LTWA, while speaking about the numerous literary works of Mr. Sharma in different languages, said 'his contribution in preserving Tibetan culture and literature is praise worthy' citing his hardworks by being one of the governing body member since 1987 and never missing a single meeting.

Professor Furqan Qamar, the Vice-Chancellor of Central University, said people can remain immortal through their dedication and passion for one's work and prayed Mr. Sharma to live 'thousand of years where each year has five thousand days'.

Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, former head of the Tibetan administration in exile was present as a special guest for the event. He released Professor Sharma's latest translation, which is 'Good Heart' by the Dalai Lama.

Sharma, in his acceptance speech said it is an honor for him to have a congratulatory function and said, 'the best thing to challenge any obstacle is to work work and work.'

Professor Sharma was born in a teacher's family in 1923, and has published over 30 books in various languages including Hindi, English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Pahari.
