Exiled Tibetan Administration Holds Mass Prayers for Self-Immolators

Dharamsala-based Central Tibetan Administration held a mass prayer to show solidarity with the Tibetans who have recently self-immolated in Lhasa and Dzamthang.
Kirti Rinpoche, the chief abbot of Kirti Monastery presided the prayers. Head of the administration Lobsang Sangay and Tibetan exile officials attended the solidarity prayers.

A Tibetan woman set herself on fire Wednesday afternoon Dzamthang monastery in Barma township of Zamthang county, Ngaba Prefecture in eastern Tibet.

On Sunday, two young men set themselves on fire outside Lhasa's famous Jokhang Temple, in the first such incident to take place in the heavily guarded Tibetan capital.

There have been 38 such protests throughout Tibet since February 2009.
