Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has been conferred with an honorary degree and delivered a guest lecture at Southern Methodist University.
Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, honoured the Tibetan spiritual leader with a a doctorate degree for his "lifelong leadership in promoting peace, compassion and inter-religious understanding."
Gerald Turner, president of South Methodist University, described the spiritual leader as an inspiration for millions and said the Nobel laureate is recognised for his concern for global environmental problems.
