Thousands of Buddhist devotees gathered for a three-day teaching by the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama at Chime Gatsal Ling Monastery in Sidhbari, near Dharamsala.
The 76-year-old Buddhist leader will be conferring the Kagyae Initiations from the 5th Dalai Lama's vision 'Bearing the Seal of Secrecy'. Speaking at the beginning of the teaching, the Nobel-laureate spoke about the relationship between Khamtrul Rinpoche and the former Dalai Lamas.
At the end of the preliminary teaching, the Tibetan spiritual leader reiterated that his decision to devolve his political authorities to the elected Tibetan leadership will benefit Tibetan people in the long run.
The Tibetan Central Administration’s Department of Religion will hold a special prayer session for those who have died of self-immolations and mass protests in Tibet.
