Dalai Lama Speaks With Native Hawaiian Leaders

The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama participated in a panel discussion with Native Hawaiian leaders on his second day in Hawaii at the University of Hawaii's East-West Center and spoke about peace at a sold-out public talk on Sunday.

The topic of the panel discussion was “the Importance of Native Intelligence in Modern Times," and the co-panelists were Dr. Pualani Kanahele, writer and expert on Hawaiian cultural practices and Mr. Nainoa Thompson, President of the Polynesian Voyaging Society

It's the Dalai Lama's fourth visit to the islands and his first since 2008, when he went to Maui.

The Dalai Lama is scheduled to wrap up his Hawaii visit todayand leaves for San Diego.
