Kashag, the Tibetan Cabinet in exile based in Dharamsala, in its 55th Uprising Day statement declared to observe 2014 as the year of the 14th Dalai Lama, to pay tribute to his visionary leadership and contribution towards Tibet and the world.
Sikyong Lobsang Sangay, head of the Tibetan administration in exile and Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in exile paid their respect and tribute to all the Tibetans who have contributed towards the Tibetans struggle.
"Kashag will make efforts to both resolve the issue of Tibet through dialogue and successfully sustain the Tibetan struggle," said Sangay.
Speaker Penpa Tsering called upon Tibetans to contribute towards the Tibetan community and to be vigilant about the Dalai Lama's security.
On the 55th Tibetan National Uprising Day, EU delegation led by the President of EU Economic and Social comittee also attended the official function.
