China Denounces Appointment of US Special Coordinator for Tibet

China has denounced The United States Government's appointment of a special U.S. Coordinator on Tibetan affairs viewing it as an unnecessary US interference in China's internal affairs on February 24, 2014.

Sarah Sewall, a Harvard and Oxford graduate was appointed to the post last Friday by John Kerry, US Secretary of State, to encourage dialogue between Beijing and the Dalai Lama or his representatives to reduce tension.

"China has never and will never recognize the U.S. people's so-called special envoy for the Tibet problem," said Hua Chunying, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.
