14 Killed In Nepal Plane Crash

Authorities say the private Agni Air plane went down Tuesday just south of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu.

Officials say four Americans, a Briton and a Japanese national were among those killed.

The three-member crew and 11 passengers were returning to Kathmandu after bad weather prevented the plane from landing at Lukla in eastern Nepal.

Officials say rescuers have reached the crash site.

Lukla is the only air strip in the Everest region. Thousands of trekkers and mountaineers fly there every year to begin their journey to the surrounding peaks and trails.

Some information for this report was provided by AP,AFP and Reuters.
