Tibetans in general are non-vegetarians, perhaps due to climatic and geographical conditions. This has come into sharp criticism specially Buddhism, which the vast majority practise, oppose the killing of any and all living things. However, the scenerio is fast changing both inside and outside Tibet. Vegetables are more abundant now and there is a growing awareness of Vegetarianism, spearheaded by a group of young Tibetans calling themselves " Tibetan Volunteer for Animals". Tibetan Call-in Show invites Mr. Tsariwa Rabsel, the man behind the movement and Ven. Tenzin Deshek, who heads a Tibetan Buddhist Center in Burmingham, Alabama as well as Mr. Thupten Sherab, who has recently given up eating meat. . They will discuss pros and cons of the movement for vegetarianism and its impact on the Tibetan society as well as, vegetarian cooking.
