Dalai Lama Addresses at the 50th Anniversary of Indo-Tibetan Studies Visva-Bharati University - 2003-11-24


The Dalai Lama expressed his gratitude to Bengal for the state's contribution towards Tibetan Buddhist studies.

The Tibetan leader was in Kolkata Monday to address the inaugural function of the golden jubilee celebrations of the department of Indo-Tibetan Studies of the Visva Bharati University. “Bengal has well nurtured the roots of Tibetan studies in universities like the Visva Bharati University and the Calcutta University, where designated departments have been continuously doing invaluable service,” the Dalai Lama told the gathering. After the speech, the Dalai Lam left for Italy via New Delhi.
