Tibetan stringer Gedun Rinchen reported from Kathmandu that many Tibetans believe that China’s completion of railroad to Lhasa from Gulmond, Amdo, would have an adverse effect on the Tibetans in the region. Tibetans say that Tibet would be flooded with Chinese migrants and workers that would render Tibetans without jobs. Chinese government says the railroad to Tibet would be profitable and is expected to bring hundreds of thousands tourists to the Himalayan region.
