Tibetans Welcome President Bush’s Meeting with the Dalai Lama - 2003-09-18

Tibetan stringer Gedun Rinchen reported that Tibetans inside Tibet and in exile welcomed the news of President Bush meeting with the Dalai Lama despite a strong protest from Beijing. The Tibetans have applauded the courage of President Bush, Secretary of State Colin Powell and Congressional leaders who welcomed the Dalai Lama and met with him during his visit in Washington, D.C. Tibetans inside and outside Tibet have burned incense and strung prayer flags and prayed for President Bush and the US leadership for success in their endeavors.
