Tibetan Government-in-exile Hails India Stand - 2003-06-26

Tibetan government-in-exile welcomed India's stand on Tibet saying that the joint declaration would prove a boon for the Tibetan struggle and would not be against the interest of their community. Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, the Tibetan exiled Prime Minister told reporters Wednesday that there was no change in India’s policy on Tibet and they were not surprised by the Indo-Sino joint declaration signed yesterday. The Tibetan leader expressed confidence that Vajpayee would pave the way for a peaceful solution to the issue of Tibet as had been desired by the Dalai Lama.
