Dalai Lama Says China’s Minority Policy is not beneficial to Any Party - 2003-06-25


Tibetan stringer Tsering Migmar reported that the Dalai Lama, addressing thousands of people in Ladakh tuesday, said that China’s policy towards minorities, in particular towards Tibetans in the long run is not beneficial neither to Tibetans nor to China. Even the Chinese intellectuals criticize Beijing's policy towards minorities; that is the policy of suppression. The Tibetan leader says although Tibet is backward in material development, Tibet is well ahead of China in the development of science of mind. The Tibetan culture could be a beneficial for the millions of Chinese, the Tibetan leader added.
