Tibetan community in Toronto is free of SARS cases. The community leader Dolkar Tsering attributes it to the efforts by the Federal government to prevent the spread of SARS and also preventive measures taken by the Tibetan community. Ms. Tsering says besides the preventive measures instructed by Western health experts, Tibetans are also taking traditional Tibetan preventive measures such as wearing sachets of medicine that were made by the Tibetan Medical Institute in Dharmsala and also doing daily prayers which they believe will help to prevent any diseases.
