Dalai Lama to Give Extensive Buddhist Teachings in Ladakh - 2003-06-18

Tibetan stringer Tsering Migmar reported that the Dalai Lama will begin his Buddhist teachings in Ladakh from June 20 and that it will last for a few days. He will also visit Jangthang, the nomad areas in Ladakh. The Dalai Lama has visited Ladakh at least 12 times and since his visit the Ladakhis have taken tremendous interest in Buddhism and are taking the Dalai Lama’s advice to heart, trying to understand the meaning of the scriptures by organizing seminars, lectures and panel discussions. The Dalai Lama advises people to guard against complacence by studying Buddhism and devoting more time for “spiritual worship.”
