State Department official visited the Tibetan refugee center in Katmandu, Nepal and told the new arrivals that the United States is interested and concerned in their situation. Ms. Joyce Leaders, in charge of Asia refugee Affairs at the State Department said that the United States was happy to help the Tibetan refugees and will continue to do so in the future. Mr. Wangchuk Tsering, representative of the Dalai Lama in Katmandu, briefed the US official on the status of the refugees in Nepal, including the Nepal’s deportation of 18 Tibetan refugees of late. Ms. Leaders says she will be also visiting Dharmsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
