Tibetan stringer Tsering Lhamo reproted from Taipei that Taiwan’s television, radio and daily newspapers have given extensive coverage of the visit of the Dalai Lama’s special envoy Lodi Gyaltsen Gyari and Kalsang Gyaltsen. Some editorials were also written on the visit, welcoming the warming relations between Dharmsala and Beijing. The papers also noted Tibetan exiled Prime Minister Samdhong Rinpoche’s appeal last year to Tibetan support groups and Tibetan communities not to protest Jiang Zemin’s visit to the United States.
