Tibetan Official Says No SARS Case among Tibetans in Taiwan - 2003-05-25

Despite 60 deaths from SARS cases in Taiwan, thus far Tibetans have been spared. There is neither SARS case nor suspected SARS case among 500 or so Tibetans living in Taiwan. The Office of Tibet in Taipei says Tibetans are taking every precautionary step, including wearing of amulets, consisting of special pill made by the Tibetan Medical Institute in Dharmsala. Tibetans believe this pill is effective in preventing infectious diseases.
