Taiwan’s President Steps up Measures to Prevent Spread of SARS - 2003-05-05


Tibetan stringer Tsering Lhamo reported from Taiwan that Taiwan’s President Chen Shui-bian has stepped up measures to prevent the spread of SARS in Taiwan. He called a special meeting of the concerned authorities and urged them to take all necessary actions to further spread SARS on the island. In order to attend to this urgent task, the President also indefinitely postponed his scheduled trip to Latin America. So far eight people have died in Taiwan of SARS.
