Sakya Trizen Opens First Tibetan Language Conference in India - 2003-03-31

Sakya Trizen, the head of the Sakya Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, opened the first Tibetan language conference held at Tsongtsen Library, near Dehradun, India. Sakya Trizen talked about the importance of preserving and developing Tibetan culture and language. On the first day three papers were presented followed by discussions. The conference was organized by Dregung Rinpoche who has a special interest in Tibetan language.
