Hundreds of Tibetan women in Dharmsala observed the 44th anniversary of Tibetan women’s uprising in Tibet’s capital, Lhasa, March 12, 1959. This year because of the warmer atmosphere with Beijing, the Tibetan women did not carry the usual posters, condemning Chinese occupation of Tibet, instead, they did a silent demonstration, paying respect to their fellow women who died for Tibet’s freedom.
