Dalai Lama Urges China to Address Tibetan Problem Before it Becomes Insoluble - 2003-03-11

Dalai Lama urged China on Monday, the 44th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day, to address the Tibetan problem before it became insoluble. “Looking around the world, we cannot fail to notice how unintended conflicts with ethnic roots can erupt in ways that make them extremely difficult to solve,” the Dalai Lama said in his March 10th speech. He said such an initiative by china would show it was ready for a “greater role on the global stage as a reliable and forward-looking power.”
