Tibetans and their friends observed the 44th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day on Monday at Chinese embassies, consulates, demanding freedom for Tibet. In New Delhi 35 Tibetans were arrested for burning Chinese flags and crossing the police lines. Tibetan National Uprising Day marks the 1959 revolt against the Chinese occupation of Tibet. Many of the speakers at the various rallies called on China to engage in a dialogue with the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile to resolve the Sino-Tibetan problems.
