Chairman of the Tibetan cabinet Samdhong Rinpoche welcomed the remarks made by Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian during the opening of the Taiwan-Tibetan Foundation. The president said, “From now on, we will not define Mongolians and or exiled Tietbans as Chinese. In that way, many problems could be resolved.” Rinpoche said that the president’ remarks reflect the reality of the situation and his government is pleased with such a recognition.
