later this month Taiwan’s President Chen Shui-bian is scheduled to give a speech at the opening of a Taiwan-Tibet Fund, a non-governmental organization. The founders of this new organization are all Chinese and they say the objective their organization is to promote and maintain good relations with the Tibetan exiles. Since the two visits of the Dalai Lama to the Island, the relations between the Tibetan government-in-exile and Taiwan has improved and the Dalai Lama’s representative office has also been established in Taipei.
