Penor Rinpoche Passes Away  བོད་སྐད།


Drubwang Penor Rinpoche, Senior Lama of Nyingmapa Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism passes away on Friday afternoon at his residence in Namdroling Monastery in Tibetan settlement.

Rinpoche has been sick for last many months and his health deteriorated in last couple of weeks and admitted to hospital in Bangalore city. Many Lamas and Khenpos of Nyingmapa tradition assemble in Byllakuppe and offered long live prayer to Kyabji Penor Rinpoche. Department of Religion and Culture of Tibetan Administration also offered Long live prayer to Penor Rinpoche.

Mr. Lodi Gyari, Special Envoy of HH the Dalai Lama said he was deeply saddened by news of passing away of Kyabji Penor Rincpoche. It is great loss for Tibetan Buddhism in general and followers of Nyingmapa Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism in particular.

Kyabji Palnor Rinpoche is one of the greatest lama to preserve Tibetan Buddhism in exile and florish to west and far east countries. It is great loss for Tibetan Buddhism and Nyingmapa school. Khenpo Pema said Kyabji Penor Rinpoche is revered by both Tibetan and non Tibetan as teacher and social worker. Pelnor Rinpoche was born in 1932 in Kham Powo. He was the 11th in the Palyul lineage of the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism. He also hold position of Head of Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism.
