Dalai Lama Address Members of Indian Tibet Support Group, South India

Tibet Support Group members from Bangalore, Chennai, Puducherry and Hubli and other places participated the special meeting addressed by His Holiness, at Mysore City on 19 February 2009.

“The meeting is organised by Mysore Chapter of the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society to listen to His Holiness.” says Captain Raj Gopal, President of Mysore Chapter.

“Now the Tibetan Nation is passing through something like death sentence. So situation of Tibet is very serious. Under such circumstances, your support is very essential.” His Holiness the Dalai Lama said while addressing the members.

On the evening of the same day, His Holiness the Dalai Lama also inaugurated the new building of JSS Mahavidyapeeth University campus. While addressing around more than 1000 students and faculty members of the university, Holiness said that “Indian tradition has great potential to make contribution for inner disarmament i.e. promotion of Ahimsa and religious tolerance.”

The university is managed by Hindu Pontiff, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathi Mahaswami who is the President of the University. The university caters business management and technical education to 35000 students and has 5000 faculty members and staff.
