Authorities in Lhasa Force former Tibetan Political Prisoners to Go Home བོད་སྐད།

After the March 14, 2008 , clamp down on protesters and looters in Lhasa , Tibetan ex-political prisoners working in Lhasa were taken away to their respective villages by district police officers and handed over to parents or family members by the district officer.
When ex-political prisoners were taken to villages from Lhasa , police officers handed them to district officer, then handed to town officer and finally district officer handed them to family or parents. At that point, parents or family members were warned that if an ex-political prisoner left the village without the knowledge of officials, whole family would be taken away. In Maldrogonkar district (East of Lhasa) ex-political prisoners were kept under close watch, and they were not allowed to leave their village.
