China Withdraws Travel Permits From Tibetans in Kyidzong  Dzong   བོད་སྐད།

Chinese authorities withdrew the travel permits saying that new ones will be issued last November. However, resident of the area say no one knows when new permits would be issued.

Authorities of Kyidrong town are busy in a political education propaganda and local people are told that they should not be misled by words of the Dalai Lama. Instead, Tibetans should follow the directives of Communist Party of China wholeheartedly. Border people believe it is a political exercise to debar Tibetans going abroad and restrict travel of Tibetans.

A new Chinese military patrolling station was opened at the border in October 2008 manned by about hundred soldiers. At present, Nepal traders are not allowed to enter Tibet from any border check posts, but Tibetan Yak caravan traders are allowed to travel to Mustang District, Nepal, a traveler said.
