Tibetan Parliament  Approves Holding  of Special Meeting on Tibet

The Tibetan Parliament-in-exile has approved the special General Meeting on Tibet to be convened from November 17-22, 2008 in Dharmsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Kalon Tripa, Tibetan Prime Minister of the government-in-exile, put forward the proposal on holding an emergency meeting on Tibet as suggested by the Dalai Lama last Friday. After an extensive discussion and deliberations, the parliament unanimously approved the proposal. This proposal will be submitted to the Dalai Lama for his approval.
