Dalai Lama Cancels European Trip For Health Reasons བོད་སྐད།

The Dalai Lama has canceled trips next month to Germany and Switzerland on the advice of his doctors.

His office said Saturday doctors asked the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader to rest following his recent hospitalization before resuming his travel schedule.

His office insists the Dalai Lama is in good health.

He was discharged from an Indian hospital September first, after four days of treatment for abdominal discomfort.

That hospital stay caused the 73-year-old Buddhist leader to cancel two other foreign trips while he underwent medical tests.

The Dalai Lama returned September ninth to the northern Indian town of Dharmsala where he has lived since fleeing Tibet in 1959, after a failed uprising against Chinese rule.
