Dalai Lama Leaves Hospital Monday བོད་སྐད།


The Dalai Lama has been discharged from the hospital in the Indian city of Mumbai where he was admitted with stomach pains last Thursday.

He is in good condition but has been advised to rest, a spokesman said The 73-year-old exiled Tibetan spiritual leader has cancelled all his international trips, saying he is suffering from exhaustion. In an interview with VOA Tibetan Service, the Dalai Lama's secretary Chime Rigzin Chhoekyapa, said that the Tibetan leader is feeling good and he will be resting for the next few days in Mumbai. Mr. Chhoekyappa added that the Dalai Lama shook hands with the hospital staff, smiled and waved at the press as he emerged from the hospital.

The Dalai Lama spends several months a year travelling the globe to teach Buddhism and highlight the Tibetans' struggle for greater freedom in China.
