Olympic Torch to Tibet བརྙན་འཕྲིན།

China has already paraded the Torch in the Tibetan town of ‘Shangrila’ amidst massive security presence and plans to go ahead with the torch run in Lhasa next week. The Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile has stood by their support for the Beijing Olympics and stated that the torch run in Tibet should not be protested. However many Tibetans and Tibet support groups see the Torch’s presence in Tibet as a case of insult to injury, and a blatant attempt by China to legitimize it’s control of Tibet.

Kunleng invites Dakpo Sonam, secretary in the Information Dept of the Tibetan government in Dharamsala, and Tsering Palden, President of the Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey.
