The Dalai Lama is in India's capital this week to conduct a series of workshops about Buddhist philosophy and meditation.
Tibet's spiritual leader arrived in New Delhi on Friday. He was greeted by his followers in the capital's Hotel Ashoka.
Workshop organizers say the event was planned several months ago, and they dismissed suggestions that the program is linked to ongoing protests about Chinese rule in Tibet.
Chinese troops took control of Tibet in 1950. At the end of the decade, the Dalai Lama fled the region to live with followers in India.
