Kunleng TV: Buddhism in modern society


Over the past few decades Tibetan Buddhism has gone from its origins as a religion practiced mainly by people of the Himalayan region to becoming a major global spiritual inspiration and tradition. This week's Kunleng program invites Ven. Lobsang Norbu Shastri, editor of the Translation Unit of the Research Department of Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies at Varanasi, to discuss Buddhism in modern society. Ven. Lobsang Norbu Shastri has authored many books on Buddhism and is currently a visiting scholar at Amherst Colleges.

Kunleng is simulcast on television via satellite, on shortwave radio, and via the Internet in real time. Tune in every Wednesday at 1400-1500 UTC, 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm Lhasa time.
