Alak Jigme Rinpoche is one of the most senior leaders of the Tibetan exile community. He served as one of the Dalai Lama's representative to Beijing during the first round of Sino-Tibetan talks in the early 1980s. During his long service to the Tibetan Government-in-exile, Alak Jigme Rinpoche has held many leading positions, serving functions from the speaker of the Tibetan parliament to Kalon (cabinet minister). This week's Tibetan TV call-in show invites Alak Jigme Rinpoche to reflect on his long service to the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, including the Sino-Tibetan engagement of the 1980s.
