Tibetan Women's Association Offers Tailoring Courses to New Arrivals


The Tibetan Womens Association's program for newly arrived and economically underprivileged Tibetan women. According to the President, of the Dharamshala based Tibetan Womens Association, the vocational training of giving tailoring course called 'Stitches of Tibet' was initiated in 1995 for the new arrival and economically underprivilleged, so that they manage a livelihood. The course lasting 18 months and with a maximum capacity of ten students, with 8 seats reserved for new arrival and 2 for others, teaches the woman, how to stitch Tibetan apparels and designing various Tibetan and western costumes. Just recently the 7th batch of course ended successfuly.
