Nepal Immigration Department Deports 5 tibetan Monks Back to India

Nepal Police arrested 5 Tibetans monks who were traveling from India to Nepal without carrying any valid travel document. This is second such arrest of Tibetans in a period of over one month by Thankot Police Check Post. They were reportedly attending the inauguration ceremony of reincarnation of Traruk Rinpoche in Kathmandu.

They were sent to the Department of Immigration at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu where they were fined and deported back to Indo-Nepal border.

Many Tibetans face similar problem every now and then while traveling between Nepal and India, some get away by paying money but some are not so lucky.

Legally Tibetans can get visa to Nepal with the travel document issued by Indian Government but since it requires some legal procedure and could take up to a month, Tibetans prefer to travel by various other means.
