Kalon Tripa Prof.Samdhong Rinpoche has not said anything whether he will be a candidate for the next Kalon Tripa or not.
It is reported that the Hindustan Times and other Indian dailies had earlier reported that, if Dalai Lama ask Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche to stand for the next Kalon Tripa then only he will run for the post, otherwise he will not stand for the post. Several media correspondent including VOA stringer tried to get Kalon Tripa's response, except for stating that since the start of next Kalon Tripa's election process, Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche had not spoken anything regarding the next Kalon Tripa's election to any media, other than that he refrain from saying anythng.
