Phuntsok Dorjee: Creator of the First Public Library in a Tibetan Settlement
Born and raised in Mundgod settlement in South India, Phuntsok Dorjee dreamt even as a young boy of having access to good books and a reading area. So many years later, even as he was based in northern India, working as the IT coordinator at TCV, Dharamsala, Dorjee proposed his library idea to the Mundgod settlement officer, who to his delight not only gave it the green light but helped support and coordinate the complicated process with him.
